On-Line Advice Columns
The Ethicist

The Ethicist is a column in the New York Times magazine in which journalist Randy Cohen attempts to answer ethical questions sent in to him by readers. At first sight it would appear to have the format and style of an old fashioned 'Agony Aunt' column but in fact Cohen's handling of the issues is serious, thoughtful and incisive. The archives are well worth reading. The column is syndicated throughout the USA and Canada and Cohen also answers listeners' questions on ethics on the National Public Radio radio news program All Things Considered.
The Book of the column: The Good the Bad & the Difference: How to Tell the Right from Wrong in Everyday Situations. Cohen's book of the column containing a collection of questions written into him and his answers.
